I borrowed it from the library. I can’t believe it is a 2003 movie and I haven’t seen it till today.
Nothing is a Canadian movie directed by Vincenzo Natali, starring David Hewlett and Andrew Miller. Director Natali also directed Cube (1997) which is another favourite of mine. Hewlett and Miller were in Cube. Cube 2: Hypercube and Cube Zero followed Cube but were directed by others.
Story is co-written by Natali, Hewlett and Miller.
Basically it is the story of two friends. Dave who is a bit of a victim at his workplace where he gets bullied and made fun of. Andrew is too scared to leave home, timid and shy and well, weird. Dave lives with Andrew, rent-free. Things take a turn from bad to worse and suddenly they find the rest of the world surrounding their house has gone POOF! In its place there is emptiness, stretching into infinity, a vast bouncy white desert.
Soon they figure out how it all happened, what they are capable of doing and how.
Here is a trailer for Nothing, narrated by the typical deep American movie voice, which I think is a bit of fun.
Verdict: Shall be added to the DVD collection.
